The Women-in-Business Workshop, an initiative of the German, Swiss an Austrian American Chambers of Commerce, is kicking off the fall season with the first of a lunch- hour lecture and workshop series. The first interactive workshop, lead by Herma M. Schmitz, principal at Executive Coaching Group, will open the discussion on new perspectives and findings on people’s relation to the “glass ceiling”. We will explore effective and ineffective language in regards to communicating successfully through this glass ceiling. In a safe environment, participants can share and discuss issues they are currently dealing with or might anticipate.

Herma has worked with organizations in South Africa, The Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, the U.K., Eastern Europe, and the U.S. Her varied professional experience with multinational companies allows her to understand the business concerns of diverse industries in a very short time. Executives and executive teams she has worked with include Morgan Stanley, Deutsche Bank, Marsh, Duff & Phelps, NYCHHC, Bellevue Hospital, Swiss Re, IBM, Proctor and Gamble and many others.
